Room 1 is really designed and decorated to the tastes of the Rothschilds. The sunken bath and the frivolous colors create the atmosphere of a luxurious hotel room. The bathroom is partly in the Riddertoren, where a small staircase leads to the maid's room and the linen rooms. Handy: this way her 'femme de chambre' could walk straight to Baroness Hélène to help her bathe and dress.
