Items from the museum’s permanent collection

Museum de Fundatie owns a vast collection of visual art. Exhibitions are held in two locations: Kasteel Het Nijenhuis and sculpture garden near Heino and Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle.

The museum owns and manages a significant collection of art from every century. Dirk Hannema’s collection (1895-1984) formed the basis of the Museum de Fundatie’s collection.

Collection

The collection includes works by such artists as J.M.W. Turner, Antonio Canova, Edgar Degas, Vincent van Gogh, Franz Marc, Francis Picabia, Piet Mondrian, Marino Marini, Karel Appel and Neo Rauch. In 2013, a spectacular addition was made to the Zwolle museum: ‘The Cloud’ has been built on the roof of the neoclassical building, formerly the Palace of Justice.
