From Line to Space

The exhibition traces Marica’s fascinating development: from the delicate drawings in the String Dimensions series to monumental three-dimensional sculptures. Marica draws inspiration from physics; not to explain science, but to translate the invisible forces and elementary particles of our universe into visual form. For Marica, colour and structure are a way of making energy visible.

Slow art

The title ‘Reality Architect’ refers to her unique working method. Just as an architect erects a building, Marica builds up her ‘paintings’ layer by layer. This process of slow art requires the utmost concentration; by applying countless thin layers on top of one another, a depth is created that compels the viewer to slow down. In his mandala reliefs, this comes together in a rhythm that is both dynamic and meditative.
