NEXT NIGHT at the Rijksmuseum

Thursday 9 October from 19 to 23 hours

Event

On 9 October the doors of NEXT will open, not just for members, but for everyone curious about what this Rijksmuseum membership has to offer. During NEXT NIGHT you will experience the Rijksmuseum’s collection in a new way. This edition they explore the world of fashion.

Fashion

What does fashion say about who we are? How do designers shape our view of identity, style, and history? Together with figures from the fashion world, including Hussein Suleiman, co-founder of streetwear brand Daily Paper, and fashion designer Claes Iversen, we will reflect on these questions. The evening also features workshops, music and drinks.

Talks (will be in dutch)

In conversation with curator Stephanie Archangel, Hussein and Claes will share the stories behind their brands. We explore how background, culture, and diverse perspectives shape their creative process.

Workshop: Rework with Daily Paper

For this workshop Daily Paper has donated exclusive pieces that will be given a second life. You will create your own unique design to wear. We will transform''De Picknick'' into a creative studio where you can customize an item to take home.

Workshop: sketching

For centuries designers have sketched models to bring clothing to life. In this workshop you will discover how to capture poses, details, and style on paper.
