Michella Bredahl

Chassé (2019), named after the ballet step in which one foot appears to chase the other, is Bredahl’s short graduation film from her documentary studies. The film is a choreography of fragments featuring young dancers searching for ways to relate to the pain of parental neglect.

Generationeel

Much of the groundwork for the Danish photographer Bredahl’s later practice can already be seen in this early work: intimate conversations in domestic interiors, young women, an exploration of generational trauma, and the hope of finding liberation through dance.
